Suzi White is one of the Hyperion Watchmen - a group of characters who all trace their origin to the same single event - an explosion at a hospital. These characters are brought together to uncover what has happened to them, to prevent the lethal side-effects the change has created, and perhaps to see justice done regarding the late hero Hyperion Star.

White Vampyr has a wide variety of friends and contacts.
Hyperion Watchmen
White Vampyr is one of the survivors of the Rivera Incident, and a key member of the Hyperion Watchmen group of super-heroes. She holds the rank of Captain, is regarded as second in command, and has the key role of Liason Officer for the group. Her core duties within the group are to act as its official liason with Freedom Corps, Longbow, the PPD, and of course with other supergroups such as coalition partners The Militia and the Paragon City Protectors
Other Groups
- The Militia are in coalition with the Watchmen, a relationship that has come about partly through Suzi's personal relationships with Britanic, Crimson Archer, and Vigilante Storm.
- The Militia Academy has grown from the seeds of both The Hyperion Clinic and The Militia's community support. Suzi has been placed in charge of much of the training of the students of this Academy.
- Paragon City Protectors are also in coalition with the Watchmen, mostly due to the close relationship the Watchmen have with PCP leader GoodGuy.
- Silent Tempest are a group that Suzi has assisted in the past, and would do so again.
- The Last Word invited Suzi to jam with them, and ended up asking Suzi to guest star on their first album. Suzi has now performed with the group several times, and considers TLW leader Dee Dee Diablo to be a personal friend.
Friends and Colleagues
Suzi has a wide circle of friends, and is generally easy to get along with. The almost empathic nature she shows with others in social situations has lead to some unusual friendships.
Suzi was the first person to whom Crimson Archer revealed his sexuality. Britanic and Suzi share such a close relationship they often spookily say the same thing at the same instant.
Suzi calls Bay State Ranger her sister, although there is no blood relation, and says she's her adopted sister. More recently, Bay State Ranger became her adopted daughter, along with Vigilante Storm as the girls came to live with Suzi and Britanic.
Both Big Lunk (Ben Campbel) and Echo Hammer (Echo Campbel) have been invited to dine at Suzi and Brit's apartment many times. Suzi is on first-name terms with several of the European Villainous Immorality League, Pact, and The Corporation members (so long as they meet her under legal circumstances).
Suzi helped Amber Banshee with studio time to record her first album. She helped Holly Steel come clean about her past and see that she could make her own future. Suzi aided Luna Starbright of The Militia to hold off a virtual army of Sky Raiders. She also helped Shadow Pariah understand that while using dark powers is dangerous, it can be controlled like any other dark impulse within the human psyche.
White Vampyr has teamed up with other heroes when asked, or when their objectives align, including Coile, Mesoc, Dee Dee Diablo, Love Angel, GoodGuy, and many others.
In turn, Suzi has been helped and guided by many of her friends, and only through their help has she become the powerful heroine of today. Crimson Archer especially helped her to deal with the desperate loneliness she felt after Eric's passing. Rakish hero Shadowe lent her expert help to deal with suddenly becoming the owner of Sentinel Industries. Even Bastinado of the Watchmen helped her to cope by allowing her to stay in action, and use the focus of her Watchmen role to help her cope.
Personality
On one level, Suzi is still the fiesty, confident Gothic Rock chick who earnt fame and fortune as the lead singer of The Gothic Overtones. On another, she is the insecure and vulnerable girl who committed suicide during untreated depression. On yet another level, she's the woman determined to make good of her powers and past, and a champion believer in the chance of redemption for any and all.
In any guise, Suzi is headstrong, tends towards impatience, and has a fearsome temper, yet is widely regarded as being a very sensitive and empathic personality who is generally very warm and easy to befriend. She describes herself as "spiritual and moral rather than religious".
She viewed much of her current condition as a judgement or curse for the sin of suicide, and believed her soul to be damned. To her rebellious gothic-chick side, that was all the more reson to do what is good and just while she can. Later, however, The Priest told her that God could forgive her her sins, and Suzi has come to be less certain of her powers being part of any 'judgement' upon her and more inclined to simply accept them as one of the many strange effects of the Hyperion Effect.
Suzi still has issues with self-confidence and self-perception, disliking much of what she is, and prone to depression. Thankfully her incredibly busy life keeps her too occupied with her responsibilities to leave much time for self-doubts and pensiveness.

Primary Powers
White Vampyr has extraordinary control of energy through meta-physics that even Albert Einstein would be hard pressed to explain fully. Hero Corps have classified this as Kinetics but are eager to study her potential further.
Secondary Powers
White Vampyr can tap into a form of reversed or negative energy, and can use this offensively. She has been seen to 'throw' bolts of negative energy at foes, which has detrimental effects on their lifeforce.
Additional Powers
Suzi White can sense energy. She claims she can simply 'see' energy, both around her and within objects. Different energies appear differently to this sense, so that she can reliably detect the type and magnitude of energy present. Because there are so many forms of energy everywhere, Suzi's sight normally filters out this sense and she must concentrate to make out a particular form or presence of energy from the mass.
While White Vampyr's primary powers and nature make it difficult to tell, she does seem to have unusually high health and stamina levels to indicate superb fitness. Suzi also demonstrates considerable leadership skills. She certainly has the ability to hasten her metabolism and move at super-speed.
Further powers are unknown at this time, but Hero Corps believes there is a lot more potential. Some Hero Corps analysts also claim that her total lack of fear of death may be a power, but others argue that this is in fact a weakness and lack of strong survival interest. She seems to be the only member of the Hyperion Watchmen to have no signs of loss of control over power, and has additionally demonstrated the ability to regulate the power of others.
Travel
White Vampyr has the ability to travel at super-speeds, and according to PPD helicopter monitoring, has been seen to run at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Vulnerabilities
White Vampyr's main vulnerabilities are psychological, especially in regard to low sense of self-esteem and self-worth. She has no fear of death, and has therefore very little strength of survival instinct.
Equipment
Suzi carries ampules of Hyperdex, as all Watchmen do, as a precaution against her powers 'going Nova'.
When in her Watchmen outfit, she carries the full range of Watchmen equipment, supplementing the standard arsenal of gadgets with one ampule that snaps apart to reveal a digital camera capable of very high resolution images, and of taking digital video. This camera uplinks directly through her comms gear.
Character History
Family Upbringing
Suzanne Louisa White was born in Paragon City in 1980. Her father, Martin White, was a professional club singer who never had a record deal. Suzi's mother, Amanda White (nee Johnson), worked mainly in the service industry. Suzi had a single brother, Julian Vernon White, six years her junior, who died of an illness in 1991.
Amanda White suffered severe depression after the death of 4 year old Julian. In 1995 Amanda White was killed in a car crash. She had been drinking, and there were always rumours that her death may not have been entirely accidental.
Teenage Suzi became quite withdrawn at school, and took on extra responsibility at home to help her father cope. The relationship between Suzi and her father was very strong and close. Although Suzi was described as exceptionally bright, and her school grades were excellent, she did not stick at college and dropped out after 1 year.
Suzi regularly went to watch her father perform in clubs around the state. It was not a surprise to anyone that knew the family that she became a singer too.
Suzi's father died in 2001 of lung cancer, which many attribute to a lifetime spent singing in smokey clubs. Suzi, now without any family, threw herself all the harder into her work, becoming a very popular singer in the club circuit, an accomplished songwriter, and forming up with a band thereafter.
Rock Star Years
Her band, Gothic Overtones, got a record deal early in 2002, and produced 3 albums. Many compare their musical style to Evanescence, mainly for combining strong rock melodies with beautiful and haunting etherial vocals.
Suzi White's contract with label Surgin' Records expired 2 days before her apparent death in the hospital. Contract negotiations had been ongoing for some months prior to this, but there were apparently arguments over the conditions, where Suzi wished to retain artistic control over the material the band would perform, while management at Surgin' Records felt the band would be far more commercially successful if they used a team of writers and produced more mainstream and popular songs.
Suzi was believed to have died on the night of the incident. Medics had taken Ms White from her home after she suffered an extreme overdose of drugs. Her heart had ceased beating in the ambulance on route to hospital. A suicide note left in Suzi's appartment satisfied police that this was a case of depression-related suicide.
The Rivera Incident
Of course, the hospital was where the incident responsible for the strange powers of all the Hyperion Watchmen began in a devastating explosion. According to rumour, Suzi came back to life beside the smouldering wreckage of the machine they had been about to attempt to restart her heart with. The blast may have caused an unusual surge through the machine, but equally, the strange energies of the blast may have resuscitated Suzi, causing her inner negative energy to drain the machine to devastation.
Suzi ran from the scene in panic, confusion, and despair. She had seen a look of horror on the face of the medic holding the charred panels before the blast sent everything reeling, and thought it was her he was horrified by.
Suzi went into hiding and stayed incommunicado and incognito for a year in a small flat in Kings Row. She went out only at night, inconspicuously, and was believed to have died in the hospital incident. She felt that in many ways she had. However, when she saw a report in a discarded newspaper about the Hyperion Watchmen, other survivors of the incident, exhibiting strange 'super' powers, she needed to know more.
Fledgeling Heroine
Suzi joined the Hyperion Watchmen shortly thereafter and became a valued Lieutanant in the organisation. The Watchmen's leader, Bastinado, soon came to rely on Suzi for her 'people skills'.
It was mere days after joining the Watchmen that Suzi first met the hero Britanic at the upstairs hero-side bar in Pocket D. The two became friends at once, and this rapidly grew into a deeper relationship, despite Suzi's strong belief that she was in no state or condition to think about romance or even of a future at all.
Suzi's survival beyond the incident at the Rivera Hospital came to media attention when she began the contentious Heroes for People movement. Several newspapers ran negative stories on White, putting her in the light of one who had 'faked' her own demise. As the effects of deep division over the Heroes for People movement spread through the super-hero community, Suzi went into hiding, assuming another costume and fake hero identity to continue doing the good work that she felt compelled to.
This early stage of White Vampyr's existance as a heroine was probably the hardest for her. She was genuinely terrified of the unwanted and unsought dark powers she had gained. She was also fully resigned to being a damned soul. She saw herself as something monstrous, but dedicated herself to using these powers for whatever good she may while she could. Suzi did not think that doing good would ever save her soul, merely that it was right. It suited her old rock-chick instinct to rebel against the system.
Vampyr Arisen
As a new level of scientific investigation into meta-powers came to Paragon, with the Invention Program ((Issue 9)), White Vampyr accepted the urging of Hero Corps to take part in a new initiative.
She went into a special 'accellerated learning' program where hypnosis and advanced accellerated learning systems were used to give her an advanced grasp on the knowledge of physics and meta-physics that she might better understand her powers, and find more uses for them.
The result of this program has been to give White Vampyr a solid grasp of advanced physics and meta-physics principles, allowing her to attain a massive boost in her powers and potential. She is now far more accepting of the burden of her powers and their nature.
Suzi returned to Paragon somewhat earlier than originally intended due to the urgent need for heroes to repel the forces of the Rikti Second Invasion. White Vampyr had not had time to adapt properly to her new knowledge, but still performed admirably in repelling the Rikti invaders, and helping protect the City from bombing and assault raids.
Since that time, Suzi's mind has adapted to the knew knowledge and concepts well, and she is now a powerful adition to the R&D team of the Hyperion Watchmen.
White Vampyr is now a far more powerful and capable heroine, no longer in fear of her powers.
Suzi finally married long-time fiance Eric Mitchell in the early hours of the morning of November 1st. The ceremony was a spontaneous one at Moth Cathedral after Britanic came to Suzi's rescue when she'd been lured into a trap at the Moth Cemetary on Halloween night. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Pious Hunter in the presence of Bastinado (acting as father of the bride), Powerstone (acting as Best Man), Sword of Redemption (caretaker at the cathedral) and Vigilante Storm (acting as maid of honour).
The Black Widow
Barely more than 2 months after their wedding, Suzi received news that there had been an explosion at the offices of Sentinel Industries and that Eric Mitchell was believed to have been caught in the blast. Suzi frankly didn't believe a word of it.
Still on a high from winning a high-stakes battle with the Freakshow gang that had attempted to destroy the Terra Volta power station reactor, Suzi told her team-mates, all of whom were members of The Militia what she'd just been told. They all responded with amusement, knowing that Britanic would turn out to be helping others out of the rubble, or even down at the bar washing the dust from his throat.
Britanic was one of the invulnerables, one of those peerless, immortal, unstoppable heroes. He'd single-handedly taken on entire companies of Rikti elite troops. He'd even been part of a strike force that made a counterstrike directly against the staging areas on the Rikti homeworld. The idea that one single bomb could even upset him, never mind injure him was ridiculous.
Except it was not so much ridiculous as ironic. CCTV footage had confirmed that Britanic had been right in the midst of the blast radius. The nature of the bomb was unknown, but highly advanced, in that it atomised a perfectly spherical radius around itself, leaving not a trace of anything in its area of effect. Upon studying the evidence, the district coroner declared that Eric Mitchell, the Battling Britanic, was dead.
Suzi is still struggling to come to terms with the idea that Britanic is gone. Even as she acts as the Executor of his Will, as he'd instructed his lawyers before his death, Suzi still found herself believing he'd somehow turn up, wondering what all the fuss was about.
Suzi has inherited Sentinel Industries, and has appointed Eric's PA, Cheryl Voss, who had effectively been running the company for some time anyway, the new CEO of Sentinel Industries. Suzi along with their adopted daughters, Rachel and Cassidy, must face the unthinkable.
White Vampyr: Ultimate Heroine
Suzi survived the loss of Britanic, with a lot of help and support from friends in the Hero community. She was determined to carry on Brit's spirit of claiming what is broken and spoiled, rebuilding and renovating it, and building a better future.
She committed resources to the new Hyperion Clinic opening in Kings Row in the Eric Mitchell Memorial Building. This clinic brings to the wider community all that the Hyperion Watchmen have learned about dealing with suddenly aquired changes, and all the complex issues and side-effects.
White Vampyr has also come fully to terms with her status and abilities as a Super-Heroine. She has adopted more flamboyant yet practical costumes, symbolizing this final acceptance of who she now is. She is the White Vampyr, a powerful heroine with both brains and beauty, courageous and caring, and she is no longer in any shame about who she is.
White Vampyr: The Modern Vampyr
When Britanic returned from the Nether realm where he'd been trapped for such a time, things were never quite the same. He seemed to find more and more reasons to work and stay away from home, and the couple felt a gulf growing between them. Rumours of the troubles, and an imminent break-up of the marriage have begun to hit the media.
Suzi continued to represent buth The Watchmen, and Britanic's interests in The Militia, and this eventually contributed to a merging of resources between the Hyperion Watchmen group and The Militia group. Suzi is now a senior figure in the joined group, working alongside Bastinado, Crimson Archer and Amber Banshee.

Trivia
Suzi was awarded a Bronze Star medal for her part in averting a plot to assassinate the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. Officially, however, the closeness of the plot to success was massively downplayed to prevent widespread panic. The Hyperion Watchmen as a group were awarded a unit citation, and a collective Silver Star.
Suzi has a taste for Jazz, and especially loves some of the classic 'torch singer' type songs of old.
Suzi's hero was her late father.
